About Me

Bodyworks, by Kim Purdy Lic.ABT C.CH is a shiatsu/acupressure clinic in Quincy, Massachusetts. I have owned and operated my wellness clinic for more than 15 years in the same location. During my 30 years in the industry, I have conducted hundreds of classes and had hundreds of continued Edu's,  acupoint formula workshops, I have extensive training as a classical homeopath, advanced management education and training for treatment of children with ASD and behavioral disorder's.

I completed my shiatsu program at the New England Shiatsu Center in 1986. In 1987, Finished a 750-hour internship under the directorship of Dr. Ted Kaptchuck, author of The Web with No Weaver. According to Dr. Ted, the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital had a difficult patient population. Most patients came from prisons and very poor communities, and they suffered from poor health conditions. Despite this, all interns under his guidance showed dedication in their work. Dr. Ted evaluated his interns as "educated, sensitive, willing to work hard, and able to re-moralize and spark renewed interest in health."

I love my work and have enjoyed creating a special clinic, I have had many interactions with thousands of clients over my thirty years in the field and feel blessed by my teachers, Dr Luc DeShepper M.D. PhD. License in Quincy

Quincy began licensing credentialed shiatsu/acupressure therapists in May 2015. Since Bodyworks had an active license from 1997 to 2008, I was presented with two options: to be grandfathered into the new state law, or to continue a legal practice under the exemption clause with no license, but still remain certified and legal under state law. The latter became my choice. My wait paid off with licensure. Many cities and towns in Massachusetts are now recognizing the same license requirements adopted in Quincy, Cambridge, Arlington, and Newton.
